Tuesday, June 9, 2015, as part of the strategic project ACCBAT, a visit to the pilot site for irrigation with treated wastewater was held in Oued Souhil – Nabeul. Members of public associations and institutions, engineers, students and doctoral students participated to the event.

The pilot site created by the ACCBAT project was inaugurated on October 29, 2014 by Mr. Hamdi Mohamed Akremi, the Governor of Nabeul.

This site is of great importance in the Nabeul region as it is the first using localized irrigation with wastewater, and that will be used as “platform” on the field for training activities of technicians and farmers across the country.

During the visit, participants were able to see the localized irrigation network of 10 plots of fruit trees with its head station equipped with a pumping system, an innovative automatic filtration system and a fertilizer injector. On the site, it was also possible to attend the explanation on the operation of pre-filtration system for treated wastewater and two storage basins with a capacity of 500 m3 each.
