Tunisian institutions and North African reporters visit the ACCBAT experimental station in Oued Souhil, Nabeul – Tunisia.

As part of the capacity building program on the identification, development and economic analysis of adaptation actions for water security and climate resilience, Thursday, December 24, 2014, a field visit of representatives of partner institutions in charge of water issues, climate change and development of the WACDEP program (Water Program, Climate for Development in Africa) took place at the Experimental Station in Oued Souhil Nabeul. The purpose of the visit was to show how it is possible to terminate the impacts of climate change drip irrigation in orchards irrigated with treated wastewater produced in the ACCBAT project.

Fifteen representatives of Tunisian beneficiaries of the training institutions (Water Resources Branch, Branch management and conservation of agricultural land, Ministry of Development and International Cooperation, Ministry of Environment and National Meteorological Institute) and eighteen reporters (from Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco) participated to the visit. The journalists participated to the visit in order to deepen their knowledge on water resources and climate change with the objective to raise awareness on issues and challenges related to water resources management and emphasis on impact of climate change.
